As commercial and industrial plumbing specialists, Avrett is certified by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to test and inspect fire hydrants. NFPA standards call for all public fire hydrants to be inspected on a regular basis. We perform annual inspections in the Aiken/Augusta area not only for the purpose of standards compliance, but also to ensure that all hydrants perform properly in an emergency. Factors that can affect performance include vandalism, accidental damage, wear and tear, mechanical malfunction and even contractors performing work on water lines who forget to reopen hydrant tap valves. We can detect any of these problems and correct them prior to the hydrant being needed.
